Parksville/Qualicum Beach Tuesday bird walk, September 4, 2018.
The Tuesday bird walk went to the Shelley Road side of the Englishman River in Parksville. The morning was sunny, warm and calm. Several flocks of American Goldfinch were spotted in the trees, and several birders caught glimpses of a Western Tanager. A Lincoln Sparrow gave us a very quick view. There was also a Coopers Hawk spotted a few times flying over the meadow area. One Red Crossbill sat top a tree for some time, giving us great views. Four Black Oystercatchers were seen on the sandbar off the point.
