BRAMBLING SEEN IN UCLUELET

Just received a report, Monday April 14 2008, of a BRAMBLING visiting a backyard on the Pacific Rim highway in Ucluelet. The Brambling is an Eurasian species that makes occasional visits along the west coast down into the northern states. In the past there have been other sightings of Brambling on Vancouver Island, in Campbell River, Port Alberni, and Tofino.
For an update on this bird contact The Backyard Wildbird & Nature Store.

a couple of other bird reports:
Monday April 14, a pair of Evening Grosbeaks are visiting a backyard feeder in the Thunderbird area of Nanaimo.
Sunday April 13, 6 Purple Martins were seen by the nest boxes on Newcastle Island.
Good birding, Colin.
