Sunday bird walk, January 07, 2018
The Sunday bird walk went to Neck Point Park in Nanaimo. The morning was cloudy with lots of rain and very windy off the Strait of Georgia. We saw Harlequin Ducks and Red-breasted Mergansers just off shore. Pacific Loons, Common Loons, Double-crested Cormorants and Pelagic Cormorants were seen throughout the morning heading up the Strait. We watched as two Brown Creeper’s slowly make their way up the trunk of a tree just off the trail. Thirty Black Oystercatchers were perched on the rocks just offshore.
