Parksville/Qualicum Beach Tuesday bird walk, Columbia Beach, January 29, 2019.
The morning started foggy but did clear for most of the morning.  We watched as one Trumpeter Swan  headed down the Strait of Georgia, along with one Canada Geese.  A Western Grebe and a Brant Goose were spotted near the horizon. Long lines of Surf Scoters with White-winged Scoters were seen heading up the strait. Ten Long-tailed Ducks were spotted offshore. A large number of Black-bellied Plovers, Black Turnstones. Dunlin, Black Oystercatchers and Greater Yellowlegs were seen along the gravel bar. One Greater-white Fronted Goose and one female Eurasian Wigeon were seen along French Creek.
